Some of LA's best and brightest theatre
companies were invited by the organizers of EdgeFest to premiere
works conceived for this very event. Our goal is to celebrate
not only the rich history (the good and the bad) of this city
but also the innovative ensembles of theatre artists collaboratively
creating new work everyday. Each company was invited to create
and present a one-act play based on a period of LA History;
a decade, a year, an event, a movement, whatever that company
felt was a significant story to tell about L.A. We intend this
project to be an annual event which will over the years create
a myriad of new work on the City of Angels. These play will
be present in a bare-bones workshop format, with minimal tech.
The LA History Project is offered free to the public.
