primal elements presents

by Valerie Rachelle Herkert
Something Persists takes four women characters from four different turn of the century novels and parallels there journeys through a patriarchial society. Novelists Theodore Dryser, Henry James, Charlotte Perkins Gilman, and Edith Wharton's work was of the first to examine the changing roles of men and women. Something persists uses movement based, dialogue/movement based, and traditional dialogue scenes to explore the relationships dealt with in these books.
